Essentials for a Good Nights Sleep ♥

Wednesday, 23 August 2017

There are only a few things in the world that I actually love more than sleep. As a child, most of us hate going to sleep each night, and having to get in bed, but as an adult sleep becomes one of your favourite things, and you look forward to hitting your pillow each evening! I've discussed the topic of sleep previously on my blog, and ways that you can all get a good and easy nights sleep, here, where I mentioned the role that your bedrooms apperance plays in your ease of getting to sleep each evening.

I don't know about you, but for me, having a homely, peaceful, comfortable and cosy bedroom is essential for a good nights sleep. I like my bedroom to be my little sanctuary, full of my favourite, calming and relaxing things - whether it be duvets, cushions, throws, candles or pretty homeware accessories- you name it, if it helps me get to sleep, and makes me feel relaxed, peaceful and cosy, I've got to have it. Today I thought I'd put together a few of my bedroom essentials for a good nights sleep, to help you all feel bright eyed and bushy tailed! ♥

♥ Duvet Covers ♥
Duvet covers are one of my absolute favourite things to buy, not only can you choose one for decorative purposes, one that shows off your personality, and adds character to any room, but you can also buy some duvet covers that help you to get to sleep! Yep, you heard me right! Personally I always go for ones that are super soft to touch, comfortable, cosy, not too thick nor too thin in terms of their quality, and of course, they have to be extra pretty! The reason that I'm very particular when it concerns duvet covers is because they're such a great tool for getting to sleep. Think about it this way:

Will you get to sleep easily if you don't feel comfortable, if you're too warm, or too cold? What about if the duvet cover feels rough against your skin? It's so important that you pick a duvet cover that makes you feel comfortable! For me, they have to make me feel sleepy, that way I know I'll have no problems getting a good nights sleep! For example, right now if I even just think about my duvet cover, I want to roll into a big burrito, get cosy and go to the land of nod. It's that dreamy! Plus it's easy on the eye, and makes me feel peaceful, and comfortable!

I think that duvet covers are often overlooked when considering essentials for a good nights sleep - so invest in a good one, I can promise, you won't regret it. I've included some of my favourites below! I also recommend the website Yorkshire Linen for a gorgeous variety of duvet covers, you name it, they've got it, with styles to suit every room decor and personality. My favourite from their website has to be this Pink Flamingo Double Duvet Cover, it's only £14.99, such a bargain! Be sure to check out their range of Duvet Covers & more.

♥Candles ♥
I mean is there anything more tranquil, relaxing and zen like than a beautiful scented candle, flickering in a dark room? I particularly enjoy Lavender scented candles for sleep time, they're just so calming! Here are some of my favourites...

♥ Cushions ♥
I love cushions, not only do they add cute decor to any room, they can instantly make your bedroom more cosy too! They make me feel so comfortable and instantly relaxed. Here are some of my favourites...

 ♥ Bedroom Accessories ♥
Because can you ever go wrong with all things rose gold/copper/pink/marble and fairylights? I don't think so! Bedroom accessories, turn a room into your own safe haven. You can buy accessories that make you happy, calm and help you to feel at ease which is the perfect recipe for a good nights sleep...
If this hasn't made you feel cosy, sleepy and want to buy lots of pretty homeware then I don't know what will?!
I have also written a post with my top tips on 'Easy Ways You Can Get a Good Nights Sleep' here  so be sure to check that out, but remember the apperance of your bedroom plays a big role in your sleep routine too!

Have a lovely day - and an even better nights sleep!
